Rune Leveau has a magical Talent for Finding things and a mountain of problems. Those problems get worse when she is approached by a charming, but dangerous cybernetically-altered corporate spy. When he says he wants her to help him find a wanted criminal called Anna Masterson, who went missing six years ago, it should be easy for a woman who’s only special gift is finding things? The problem is Rune has a dangerous secret. She IS Anna Masterson, and the spy isn’t taking no for an answer.

St. Benedict has searched for the last six years for the Masterson Files, a computer program that is rumoured to do the impossible, cast magic spells. Such a program would reshape the world. For his own reasons, he’s determined to be the first to find it and the mysterious woman connected to it, Anna Masterson. Having exhausted his other options, he is left with a new hope that this Finder of the Lucky Devil can lead him to the prize he has sought for so long. But the Finder is proving difficult and he isn’t going to take no for an answer.

Set in an alternate Chicago, where technology and magic are in competition with each other, this fast paced Cat-and-Mouse chase makes The Finder of the Lucky Devil a welcome addition to your urban fantasy/cyberpunk library.

The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil series Book 1)
By: Megan Mackie
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil series Book 1) by Megan Mackie is a paranormal/fantasy book. This is a story that has plenty of action, adventure, mystery, and magic. It had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It is the story of Rune Leveau. She is a woman who has many problems. Another has just been added to her list when a man named St. Benedict asks her to find someone for him. The situation becomes further complicated when he tells her who he is trying to find. She tells him that she can’t help him. He will not take no for an answer. This is a journey that has plenty of danger for both Rune and St. Benedict. Revelations and secrets are told which only open up the door to more questions. There are also others in this story who have their own agenda and are only adding to Rune’s problems. They are manipulative and will do anything to make sure their plans succeed. Will Rune give in and lead St. Benedict to who he is searching for? There is danger around every corner. Read this story to find out if these two survive. There are many characters that play a part in this story and that I loved reading about them. Some of them are friendly and helpful to the main characters, some are working against them, and others had me wondering what side they were really on. This is a wonderful story that I had a hard time putting down until I had read the final page. It is the first book that I have read by the author and the first story in a series. Attention to details in the book and the wonderful characters are just two of the reasons that this is a story I would recommend reading. I can’t wait to read what happens next in the series.

The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil series Book 1) Megan Mackie was freaking fantastic!

I am so excited right now cause that book was astonishing. Right from the prologue, to the opening chapter it was fast pace, explosive and addicting. The writing was easy to follow, the world building, and little all over the place, but fit the complete chaos that seemed to explode all at once. The information was giving at the rights times, no info dumping here.

Rune was pretty badass. This was a journey for her and I’m glade she pulled her broken self together in time to pretty much pull a miracle out of her behind. St. Benedict, I got some theories about him, and I need to read the next book to see if I’m right, though I have a feeling that if this is going to be a long series, as most Urban Fantasies are, it might be awhile. What I will say, he was a perfect match for Rune, they worked like they were destained to, and from a few choices words, and slight foreshadowing, I have a feeling they are going to much more.

There is a slow burn romance building, and I’m officially invested. So please take my high recommendation that you will not only love this book, but fly through it like I did. Don’t get discoursed by the word count. Because of the pace and no lulls, it’s a very fast read. With that said.

Happy Reading.

I absolutely loved this book. Just when you think you have everything figured out, the author throws a new twist at you. Even the ending of the book leaves unanswered questions, and has you craving to to find out more. I can not wait until the next book comes out to find out what happens next. I highly recommend you to give this book a try, you won’t be disappointed!!

Very Good and Interesting First Book

Extremely interesting premise. A magic user that probably has a lot more magic than she knows or understands. (Yes I agree it is a pretty common theme but this one spills out uniquely). It drags a little here and there but I assume that is part of the world building. I will definitely order book 2 and assume it will move more quickly now that the world is built and the characters introduced.

I loved it! The juxtaposition of magic and technology is really thought provoking. The lead character, Rune, is a strong, resourceful woman I’d love to meet!

A Great Read! (And I’m pretty picky)

As a big fan of the Hunger Games and other similar stories, this wasn’t my typical book pick but it turned out to be a great page turner. The story line kept my interest from beginning to end. The ending left me wanting more which I usually hate. But rest assured, the Chicago based author said there was going to be another book. Now if only the Lucky Devil bar in it really existed.
